Deus Ex

Square Enix have released the second Deus Ex: Human Revolution gameplay trailer which shows off the main character, Adam Jensen, and some of the futuristic weapons, technology and abilities available to him.
The early 2011 game for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sees Jensen undergo extensive cybernetic augmentation before facing up to a sinister global conspiracy.
This latest Deus Ex trailer showcases more of Jensen's cyborg powers, including hacking, invisibility, enhanced vision, and extra strength.
In terms of weaponry, there's a laser rifle, revolver, stun weapons and abilities, gas and EMP grenades, and an explosive spinning takedown on display.
The Eidos Montreal team have also been talking up the way their game takes note of each player's decisions - a hallmark readily identifiable with the Mass Effect series - saying that "a lot of choices will be more or less hidden in the challenges you face and in the narrative."
The story acts as a prequel to the original Deus Ex which, back in 2000, cemented the already considerable reputation of video game designer Warren Spector, who is now applying his talents to a more family-friendly title: Disney's Epic Mickey on the Wii.

Nintendo has selected new graphics technology from Japan-based DMP in its highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS portable game machine.
The Nintendo 3DS, due next year, can produce 3D effects without the need for special glasses--what DMP describes as "naked-eye 3D stereovision"--and was a big hit at E3 2010 last week. It will succeed the Nintendo DS.
Nintendo explored other graphics chip options from suppliers such as Advanced Micro Devices' ATI unit, ARM, Imagination Technologies, and Nvidia, according to Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie research, writing in a blog.
Founded in 2002, DMP has had a goal to develop a high-performance graphics chip that is relatively power efficient, according to Peddie. Peddie describes the technology as "real-time photo realistic rendering with physically correct lighting and shadowing." Certain techniques that DMP uses allow it to quickly render clouds, smoke, gas, and other fuzzy objects, according to Peddie.
DMP described its PICA200 graphics core in a press release as follows: "DMP's PICA200 graphics core features proprietary DMP 3D graphics extensions 'Maestro technology.' By hardware implementation of complex shader functionality, these extensions allow the high-performance graphics rendering found on existing high-end products to be realized on mobile devices with low power consumption requirements, such as portable game machines."
"So the bottom line is that amazing high-end graphics functions in a low-cost handheld device with stereovision is not only possible, it has arrived," Peddie wrote.

Alan Wake tops Xbox Charts!

Microsoft’s highly anticipated thriller trumps FIFA and Lost Planet 2 in Xbox Top 10
While it didn’t manage to displace 2010 FIFA World Cup in the All Formats Chart, Microsoft’s Alan Wake has triumphed in the Xbox 360 Top 10.
The Remedy-developed Thriller takes the No.1 spot, pushing EA’s latest footy game down to third place.
Capcom’s Lost Planet 2 took second place in the Xbox 360 charts, missing out on the top spot by almost 12,000 sales – despite releasing four days earlier than Wake.
The only other new entry in the 360 Top 10 was EA’s Skate 3 at No.4 – it’s highest chart position this week. The game placed in fifth in the All Formats Top 20 and sixth in the PS3 charts.
In the All Formats Charts, Alan Wake had to settle for No.2, although Chart-Track reports it was only 1,000 sales behind the multiformat FIFA.
